Salt Lake Tabernacle
Located directly in Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah is the Salt Lake Tabernacle. This Mormon Tabernacle was built somewhere in the mid-1860's and after many renovations throughout the years, continues to be one of the most popular historical and religious spots within Salt Lake City. The Tabernacle is home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, a world-famous group of religious singers and was the former home of the Utah Symphony Orchestra. Visitors can come to tour the historic site and listen to a performance from the Choir on select days.
Salt Lake City Public Library
The Salt Lake City Public Library is the ideal place to curl up with a good book and get lost in the pages. Sign up for your very own library card to check books out or simply visit the library and browse the wide collection within the facility. Visitors can even search the collections online to see if their desired books have been checked out. The Salt Lake City Public Library is also home to a number of special events throughout the year. This includes one-of-a-kind art exhibits, self defense classes, kids events, and book festivals.
Gallivan Center is known as Salt Lake's Living Room. This laid back environment provides guests with a variety of things to see and do. Special events are held at the center throughout the year for your enjoyment such as block parties and concerts in the park. The ice rink is one of the most popular attractions at Gallivan Center. This brand new outdoor ice skating rink can be enjoyed by visitors and Salt Lake City locals. The ice rink is open during the winter months and concessions are available for hot cocoa and snacks.
Church History Museum
The Church History Museum is located at the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salt Lake City. Visit the museum to learn about the history of this historic church and the religious aspects of it. Learn about the teachings and scriptures of the religion plus much more. Private tours of the museum are available for groups and programs.
Utah Museum of Contemporary Art
For over 80 years, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art has served as a main area attraction where visitors can view many exhibits of unique artwork. Here, artists come together through photography, paintings, videos, and sculptures to engage visitors. Some exhibits include Battleground States and Jason Metcalf.
